Living With Multiple Sclerosis

Hang in there baby...YOU CAN DO IT!
If
you find any articles from a reputable source which you think
could be a positive way for helping us deal with living with
MS please e-mail the
webmaster or
the Director
with
the address of the article and she will make the decision with
help from the
Blue Ridge Chapter of the
National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
These materials are for people who live with
MS--including those with a recent
diagnosis and those who have been living with MS for some time.
The road
to wellness involves more than treatment of the disease.
Coping skills
Coping
with MS is difficult for a young person in an already
complicated stage of life. Teens are bombarded with physical
changes and emotional and social challenges. With the added
diagnosis of scoliosis, anger, insecurity and fear may occur.
A
strong supportive peer group can have a significant impact on
a child's or teen's acceptance of scoliosis, bracing or
surgical treatment. Encourage your child to talk to his or her
friends and ask for their support.
Consider
joining a support group for parents and kids with scoliosis.
Support group members can provide advice, relay real-life
experiences and help you connect with others facing similar
challenges.
Here are a few articles I have found to be
helpful.
